Fligby® Simulation

Why is it good for me and for my company?

Fligby® (Flow is Good Business for You) is an online simulation program for develop leadership skills, based on Flow theory of Prof. Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. It transmits the leadership approach, where leaders, while concentrating on the profitability of the company, also care about the wellbeing of their employees. With this behaviour when the employees perceive themselves as individuals being on an upper level of skills and challenges and realise that they can perform, their motivation increases significantly while the company gains also more profit.

The interactive game adapts to the learning methods and needs of the different generations. May be taken the tool of simply teaching by telling or bringing to book for, it inspires by gamification, accelerates and develop the deeper acquirement of skills.

The Simulation has been developed by ALEAS Simulations and won the “International Serious Play Awards” in 2012.

During the game the leader:

  • receives immediate feedback from his employees (managed in the game) both in oral form and in form of their metacommunication (body language)
  • gives advices and indications by his mentor, Mr. Fligby
  • receives feedback, evaluation and suggestions for improvement for 29 leadership competencies

 

What do I need to do?

As the recently appointed GM of Turul Winery, you face the challenging task of having to achieve a state of harmony and co-operation in a team significantly weakened by internal conflicts. Furthermore, you have to find ways to free the creative energies of your colleagues by applying appropriate methods of leadership. At the same time, decisions concerning strategic questions of Turul’s wine business have to be made in accordance with the expectations of the Winery’s owner. You have to make not only operative and strategic decisions, but must also create a working environment which promotes active participation. As a result of the learning process, you will improve your skills and become more successful leader. Further goal of the game is to win the international “Spirit of the Wines Award”.

What to make next?

The Simulation game provides a flexible timetable for players. On average players spend 7,5 hours with the simulation, dividing the 23 scenes to 2-3 weeks. To put it into another context: it is like you watch 1 season of your favourite TV series on a weekend. There is the opportunity to play the scenes again and make different decisions, which will result in another turns in the story line.
